Why water is so important for our muscles to function at their best

Updated: Sep 2, 2020

Your brain is the most important muscle. Your brain is mostly water, having enough water helps improve your concentration, helps balance your moods and emotions, reduces stress, prevents headaches, increases blood flow and oxygen to the brain.

Weight loss happens easier with enough water, it increases your metabolism & is effective appetite suppressant. (stops your food cravings) So drink more water.

Drinking enough water helps prevent your muscles from cramping, lubricates the joints in your body. Being well hydrated enables your muscles to work longer and harder, thus helping you build more muscle. Recovery of your muscles is so important, if not more important than training itself. When we are recovering is when the muscles grow. If you

are dehydrated your muscles will struggle to recover. Drinking enough water speeds up your recovery, helps detoxify your body better.

Amount of water needed? Easy your body weight in kg x 0.033 that's the amount of litres needed each day for you.
